This factory is in Salhus. It is a small town at the edge of a beautiful fjord. Now this factory is a museum "Trikoasjemuseum". The museum still preserves the spinning machines in perfect conditions, and in their shop we can purchase traditional yarn and knitted sweaters, scarfs, gloves, buffs, skirts, shoes, etc., knitting books, and all thing that is necesary for knitting.
The sellers and people responsible for the organization gave us excellent service and information! The place had a coffe shop with a lot of god food and drinks and of course coffe!!! And if you have small children, the instalations are perfect for them and the festival had a many activities for them as the reading of the children's story (BOMULV- Njord Svendsen og Akin Duzakin) and crafts like making your own doll! with rags.....very nice!
The whole place looked like a fashion show....the knitted clothes, it was gorgeus because you could look at the design by the craftswomen (maybe next year I can see more men in this festival!!!! It would be great!). But the craftswomen atmosphere realy was amazing!!!!
The photographies are by Morten Stokkan and me. And the information about the museum is in the ending this post.
